Dareen Herbert lives in Immanuel Mission Arizona on the Navajo Nation. Her father began carving roosters in Immanuel Mission in the early eighties and would bring them into Santa Fe to sell. She began to carve with her dad in the 80’s, carrying on the tradition. She goes out and finds her own aspen, and carves hand paints them into charming crows, ducks, and turkeys but the things she is really know for are her great and hilarious chickens.
